  • How does Twitter Quotes obtain the quotes?

The quotes are tweets from Twitter's public timeline, which is a live stream of tweets of all Twitter users. Quotable retrieves tweets that contain the hashtag "#quote".

  • What is hashtag in Twitter?

Hashtag is a convention by Twitter users to tag and categorize tweets. For example you can add in the text "#iphone" at the end of your tweet if the topic is about iPhone. This will allow hashtag-aware search engines and applications to identify the content of your tweet.

  • Do I need a Twitter account in order to use Quotable?

No. You do not need a Twitter account in order to use Quotable. Quotable uses the public timeline provided by Twitter. However you will need a Twitter account in order to post quotes to Twitter.

  • What is blacklist users in Twitter Quotes?

If you do not want quotes from a Twitter user to appear, you can add the user into the "Blacklist users" list. This is useful to filter out spams or users who misuse the "#quote" hashtag.

  • How do I add Twitter users to the blacklist?

While in Twitter Quotes slideshow, tap the screen for the quote property. Select the option "Blacklist This Twitter User".

Or you can add users to the blacklist under settings: Settings > Twitter Quotes > Blacklist Users.

  • How do I save Twitter quotes into playlist?

While in Twitter Quotes, tap the screen for the property screen of the quote. Select the option "Save Quote To Default Playlist".

  • What is Playlist Quotes?

Playlists are quotes database located on your device. You store quotes into one or more playlists. You can harvest the quotes from Twitter Quotes or add your own quotes. You can add and remove playlist, and move quotes from one playlist to another.

Similar to Twitter Quotes, you can playback the quotes in playlist in slideshow. And share the quotes by email or posting to Twitter and Tumblr.

  • Can I keep a quote into more than one playlist?

No. Each quote belongs to only one playlist. However you can create a new quote with the same content and store it in a different playlist.

  • How do I email and post quotes to Twitter and Tumblr?

While in slideshow, tap the screen for the quote property. Select the option "Share This Quote".

  • Does Quotable come preloaded with tens of thousands of quotes?

Quotable is designed for viewing and sharing quotes from Twitter, and for harvesting favorite quotes into personal collection. Quotable comes preloaded with quote samples and is not meant to be a source of quotes database.
